YU-YU-YU (“we”, “us”) recognises the importance of your personal information. We comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws of Japan, and handle personal information as set out below.

Article 2 (Definition of Personal Information)

In this policy, “personal information” means personal information as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information: information about a living individual that can identify that specific individual by name, date of birth or other description, including information containing an individual identification code.

Article 3 (Information We Collect)

When you register as a member or request that we purchase your cards, we collect the following information.

  1. Name, name in katakana, date of birth, age and occupation
  2. Postal code, address and phone number
  3. LINE display name and X (formerly Twitter) ID
  4. Bank name, branch name, account type, account number and account holder name
  5. Whether you are a registered invoice issuer under the Japanese qualified invoice system
  6. Information from the account you use to log in (see Article 4 below)
  7. Details recorded on the official identification document you present for identity verification

Article 4 (Logging In via External Services)

This site allows you to log in with a Google account or a LINE account. When you use this feature, we receive the following information from those services.

  1. Google account: email address, name (display name) and profile image
  2. LINE account: your LINE user identifier, display name and profile image

We never receive your password. Nor do we read or post any of your information on those services.

Article 5 (Purposes of Use)

We use the personal information we collect only for the following purposes.

  1. Processing purchases and sales, and related communications
  2. Paying you for cards we purchase (bank transfer processing)
  3. Identity verification and the creation and retention of transaction records under the Antique Dealings Act
  4. Managing your membership, issuing your membership card and providing member services
  5. Sending information about new products, new arrivals and other announcements
  6. Responding to your enquiries
  7. Preventing fraudulent transactions and protecting our rights and property
  8. Procedures required by law and for tax purposes

Article 6 (Disclosure to Third Parties)

We do not disclose personal information to third parties without your prior consent, except in the following cases.

  1. Where required by law
  2. Where necessary to protect a person’s life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain your consent
  3. Where we receive a lawful enquiry from the police or another public authority
  4. Where we pass your account details to a financial institution to the extent necessary to transfer payment to you

Article 7 (Outsourcing)

We may outsource all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use. Where we do so, we exercise the necessary and appropriate supervision over the contractor.

Member information on this site is stored on cloud services provided by Supabase Inc.

Article 8 (Security Measures)

We take the following measures to prevent the leakage, loss or damage of personal information and to otherwise keep it secure.

  1. Limiting who may handle personal information and managing their access rights
  2. Encrypting communications and configuring systems so that unauthorised persons cannot view the data
  3. Storing information obtained on paper in a lockable location

Article 9 (Retention Period)

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes of use. However, records that we are required to retain under the Antique Dealings Act or other laws are retained for the period prescribed by those laws.

Article 10 (Requests for Disclosure, Correction or Suspension of Use)

You may request that we disclose, correct, add to, delete, suspend the use of, or stop the third-party provision of your personal information.

Please make such requests in store or using the contact details in Article 1. After verifying your identity, we will respond within a reasonable period in accordance with the law.

You can also update the details you registered yourself, from the “Edit your details” page after logging in.

Article 11 (Cookies and Similar Technologies)

This site uses browser storage (cookies and equivalent technologies) to keep you logged in. You may disable these in your browser settings, but if you do, the login function will not work.

Article 12 (Customers Who Are Minors)

If you are a minor, please obtain the consent of a parent or guardian before registering as a member or selling cards to us. See the Membership Terms for details.

Article 13 (Changes to This Policy)

We may amend this policy in response to changes in the law or in our business. Amendments take effect when they are posted on this site.
